Starship Century editor Greg Benford sat down with the SETI Institute‘s Jill Tarter on May 22nd for a Google hangout to discuss our interstellar future.  Despite a few minor tech glitches at the start, it’s an enlivening conversation hosted by SETI’s Frank Marchis and moderated by Adam Mann from Wired Science.

  1. Greetings one and all,

    Lets get real any propulsion system that involves spitting out energetic particulate matter ‘WILL NOT’ facilitate the exploration of interstellar space. Try not to confused the most immediate solution with a good solution.
    in short there are currently ‘NO GOOD’ solutions. If anybody is likely to change this state of affairs it’s Dr. Harold White who is currently the only person openly exploring the possibilities of warp drive.
